Further to Tenebrae winning the BBC Music Magazine choral award for the choir’s recording of Brahms and Bruckner Motets, the album has re-entered the Specialist Classical Music Charts alongside two other recently released albums, both of which feature music by two highly-acclaimed contemporary choral composers: Ola Gjeilo and Alexander L’Estrange.
In addition to having three albums in the top 30, Ola Gjeilo’s disc, featuring performances from Tenebrae and Voces8, is John Suchet’s Classic FM album of the week having been described as “cinematic… evocative, lush, story-telling”.
