Tenebrae commission nominated for British Composer Award - 3.11.06

The ‘Path of Miracles’, Tenebrae’s 2005 choral commission from Joby Talbot, has been short listed in the 2006 British Composer Awards in the choral category.

Now in its fourth year, the British Composer Awards profiles the work of classical composers in the UK and Northern Ireland. The British Academy of Composers & Songwriters, working in partnership with the Performing Right Society and with BBC Radio 3, will host the Awards on Friday 24th November at the Hayward Gallery on London’s South Bank.

British composer Joby Talbot who wrote the 17-park a cappella choral work ‘The Path of Miracles’ – based on the annual pilgrimage ‘Santiago de Compostella’ in Spain – is nominated for the award in the Choral Category alongside Judith Bingham for ‘My Heart Strangely Warm’d’ and Jonathan Dove for his ‘Köthener Messe ’
