Russian Treasures
Borne of Nigel Short’s enduring love of Russian Orthodox music, ‘Russian Treasures’ remains one of Tenebrae’s most popular programmes. Since its inception, Tenebrae has earned critical acclaim for its performance of Russian repertoire, and particularly for its characteristic low basses. It was a great joy to be able to gather the full choir together for the making of this film in October 2020 – the first time we had been able to do so since March – and we hope you will enjoy this selection of music by Sergei Rachmaninov alongside the less well-known Kalinnikov, Chesnokov and Kedrov.
Tenebrae is the current master of the Russian sound.

How do I purchase a ticket?
To purchase a ticket to a Tenebrae Unlocked performance, visit our online shop and select the film you would like to watch. On the film pages you will be given the option to purchase a single ticket or a series ticket. Select the one you want, and either continue browsing our other films and recordings or, if you are ready to pay, navigate to checkout via the shopping cart icon in the top-right corner of our website.
Please do consider making a donation if you are able – Tenebrae is a registered charity, and depends upon the generosity of individuals to deliver concerts, recordings and outreach work.
When you are ready, click the button to checkout. You will be prompted to sign in if you already have an account with Tenebrae, or to create an account if you don't. Setting up an account is simple, and you will be guided it through it step by step. Once you are signed in, complete the rest of the checkout process.
When your purchase is successfully completed, your film will be available to watch on the Your Films page in your account. If you purchased a season ticket, then the films will appear on this page as and when they are released.
How long do I have to watch my film?
A single ticket entitles you to 30 days’ access. You can watch the film as much as you like during this window, and you will be able to skip and rewind if you want to listen again to certain pieces. After 30 days the ticket will expire and you will no longer be able to watch the film – but if you love it you can always purchase a new ticket!
Series ticket holders will have 30 days’ access to all four Tenebrae Unlocked films.
