Bach and Allegri
- 10 October 2020
- 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm
- Thüringer Bach Week
- Eisenach Georgenkirche
We are delighted to perform in Eisenach with a tempting programme for the Bach Festival. Alongside much-loved motets by Bach is Allegri’s famous and spellbinding Miserere, whose history is somewhat of a myth – composed exclusively for Easter week in the Sistine Chapel, Mozart is rumoured to have transcribed the work entirely from memory. Tenebrae is known for it’s powerful and moving performances of these sacred gems.
Programme:
Johann Sebastian Bach:
Jesu, meine Freude BWV 227
Komm, Jesu, komm BWV 229
Singet dem Herrn ein neues Lied BWV 225
Gregorio Allegri – Miserere
also featuring works by Alonso Lobo, and James MacMillan
Venue & Address:
Eisenach Georgenkirche, Markt, Eisenach, D-99817, Germany
