A Hymn of Heavenly Beauty

A Hymn of Heavenly Beauty

We are delighted to present a programme celebrating some of the finest sacred choral works from the Renaissance through to the present day, ranging from the haunting Allegri ‘Miserere mei, Deus’, to MacMillan’s setting of the same text. Featuring a number of familiar favourites alongside masterworks by J.S. Bach, these works showcase the soaring contrapuntal lines of the late Renaissance. Opening with Alonso Lobo’s ‘Versa est in luctum’, this programme is a true homage to choral greats past and present.
