We are delighted to announce that we go into the studio next week for our first CD recording with Decca. The disc features the music of Paul Mealor, whose beautiful Ubi Caritas was performed at the recent royal wedding of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and described as “the real hit of the wedding”. The music includes his Stabat Mater for orchestra, soprano and choir, and we are thrilled to be joined by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and Grace Davidson for the piece, which is to be the largest piece on the album. Dr Mealor said: ‘I’m really looking forward immensely to working with Tenebrae and Nigel Short for the forthcoming Decca album of my sacred choral music. Tenebrae is one of the greatest choirs in the world with exceptionally fine blending and control, and Nigel has a wonderfully sensitive and expressive way of shaping music… This is going to be a real thrill for me!’
