We are very pleased to share that Alexandra Davies will be succeeding Henry Southern as Tenebrae’s General Manager. Henry has been a wonderful colleague and ambassador for Tenebrae across the globe, working tirelessly to promote the choir to where we are now.
Alex read Music at the University of Cambridge, where she held a choral scholarship with Selwyn College Chapel Choir. She spent several years working in the retail sector before deciding to pursue a new career in the arts, and since 2015 she has been part of the team at Classical Opera and The Mozartists. Alex also sits on the committee of Young People in the Arts (YPIA), and continues to sing with several London-based choirs and vocal ensembles.
Alex says: “I couldn’t be more delighted to be joining Tenebrae at such an exciting time. This is one of the best choirs in the world, and as a former chorister I have always admired their consummate musicality and incredible depth of sound. The past few seasons in particular have seen the choir go from strength to strength, and I can’t wait to build on these successes over the coming years. I look forward to meeting lots of Tenebrae’s supporters at our performances in the new year.”
Alex will be joining in February 2019 and will be working alongside Esther Poole, Tenebrae’s Concerts and Marketing Manager, and Charlotte Nohavicka, who has recently joined the management team as our Development and Learning Coordinator.
