We are BBC Music Magazine Winners – twice!

Posted on 23 April 2026

We are bowled over to have won the BBC Music Magazine Awards 2026 in both the Choral category and for the Recording of the Year.

The BBC Music Magazine Awards are the only classical music recording awards in which the main categories are voted for by the public, and we are so grateful to every single person who voted for us in the Choral category – it means so much to us to have this album recognised in this way.

We were also delighted to have been awarded the ‘most prestigious trophy of the evening – Recording of the Year’. Charlotte Smith, editor of BBC Music Magazine, commented that ‘This beautiful album from Tenebrae presents a timely response to an increasingly fractured world. Yet far from a disheartening experience, the singing is quietly powerful in its restraint and uplifting in its passion.’

Huge congratulations go to all other nominated artists – we feel very lucky to be part of such a rich and vibrant musical community, and are constantly inspired by our contemporaries.
