Tenebrae are delighted to announce the upcoming release of their new recording ‘Lux et Veritas’, which features choral music ‘for peace and reflection’ by the acclaimed British composer Will Todd. This new release builds on the success of Tenebrae’s previous partnerships with the composer, including the 2012 recording of Todd’s ‘The Call of Wisdom’ alongside the English Chamber Orchestra, described by Gramophone as a disc of ‘perfectly formed musical marvels’.
Recorded earlier this year in the serene setting of St Augustine’s Church, London, ‘Lux et Veritas’ includes a variety of Todd’s pieces which reflect on the theme of peace, especially relevant in this centenary year of the outbreak of WWI, including tracks such as ‘Exalt Us In Your Love’ and ‘Tidings’. In addition to these much-loved works, the disc includes seven new pieces by Todd which are premiered by Tenebrae on this recording. These new works were inspired by the composer’s own search for peaceful resolutions to his personal challenges, through the creation of music.
