USA Tour November 2019

Posted on 1 August 2019

We’re very excited to announce that Tenebrae will be returning to the United States for an extensive tour in November 2019. We will be visiting the University of Georgia in Athens, GA; Charleston; Duke University in Durham, NC; University of Maryland, MD; Chicago; St Louis; Dallas; Brigham Young University, UT; Los Angeles and Ashland, OR.

We’re performing two signature Tenebrae programmes. The first of these, Joby Talbot’s Path of Miracles, was the first major commission from Tenebrae and a unique dramatic work following the four main staging posts of the ‘Camino Frances’. Alongside Path of Miracles we’ll be performing Owain Park’s Footsteps, written specifically for community/youth choirs to perform with Tenebrae. Our second programme is ‘England’s Finest’, celebrating some of the greatest English choral music of the twentieth century including music by Finzi, Holst and Vaughan Williams as well as Parry’s Songs of Farewell and Howells’ Requiem. Ivor Gurney had an association with all of these leading composers of the era, and his motet Since I believe in God the Father Almighty is a foil to Judith Bingham’s contemporary setting of Gurney’s poetry in A Walk with Ivor Gurney. We’re so looking forward to bringing this music to new audiences across the pond so do snap up tickets whilst you can.

All events and ticket information is up on our event page here. See you there!
