Alex grew up in Brighton, and moved to London to study Musicology at King’s College. After graduating with distinction for his MMus focusing on twentieth-century Spanish opera, he chose to pursue further postgraduate study in piano performance at Trinity Laban. While performing, Alex then worked as part of the production team at the BBC Proms. He has since worked as an agent, a producer and as a concert manager, as well as managing international orchestral tours. Alongside his work at Tenebrae, Alex produces the Amiata Music festival in Tuscany, and hosts a regular classical music podcast. In his spare time, he enjoys reading and bookbinding.
